New Arrivals!

Picture
Molly and Charley The Keeper have graced us with 4 boys and 3 girls born on April 21st!  These little angels range in colors from dark red to golden, and some have their mama's white "tuxedo markings".  Guesstimated weights will be from 17 to 30 pounds, and their coats will all be wavy and low/no shed.  As is the case with all of our breeding dogs, Molly and Charley are GANA Gold Level health cleared, so these babies will be clear of all the Goldendoodle genetic diseases listed on the GANA website.  They will go through the Puppy Culture Enrichment program before going home.  Training for basic commands, outside potty training and crate training begins on week 5, and the Puppy Evaluation Personality Testing is done at 6 weeks old to determine which puppies will best fit each family's lifestyle and requested needs.  "Fetch, Puppy!" day will be June 16th, so call now to get your name on the list!

  • F1 - Golden Retriever to Poodle
  • F1b - Goldendoodle to Poodle
  • F2 - F1 Goldendoodle to F1 Goldendoodle
  • Multigen - Two Goldendoodle parents.  One parent must be an F1b or multigen.  A Poodle or a Golden Retriever bred to a Multigen Goldendoodle also constitutes a Multigen.
The first Goldendoodles were introduced in the 90's, most likely as a result of the popularity of the Australian-created Labradoodle.  The athleticism, loyalty, eagerness to please and exceptional disposition of the Golden Retriever combined with the extreme intelligence, low/no shed coat  and hypoallergenic tendency of the Poodle results in an adorable, intelligent, loving and versatile family pet.  The Goldendoodle is also growing in popularity as a service dog.
The variations in size, coats and colors of the breed is another huge selling point for those looking for a wonderful family pet.
The Goldendoodle Association of North America (GANA) is the first and only official breed club for the Goldendoodle, and the dedication and commitment of GANA breeders assures the breed will remain the same wonderful breed in the future.
  • Petite - height at the withers is below 14", and typically 25 pound's or less
  • Mini - height at the withers is over 14" but under 17", and typically 26-35 pounds
  • Medium - height at the withers is 17" but under 21", and typically 36-50 pounds
  • Standard - height at the withers is over 21" and 51 pounds or more

Coats

Goldendoodle coats are either curly, wavy or straight.
We explain "curly" as Poodle-Curl. We breed very few curly coats.
The term "Straight coated" can be misleading, as it's very often wavy in appearance.

Grooming

Frequent grooming is a necessity for this breed as, without it, matting will occur.  Mats are painful and can cause health problems, so the coat must be maintained on a regular basis.  Before you commit to owning a Goldendoodle, check with your local groomers on their experience with the breed and prices for regular grooming. As part of our training, we introduce your puppy to many of the processes involved in grooming, and we expect our puppy owners to provide daily brushing and combing.  We are happy to help you get started with grooming your own dog, vs using a professional.

Colors

Goldendoodles come in a huge variety of colors and patterns.  For specific details, please visit goldendoodleassociation.com and click on "About the Breed".
